CHAP. 108.

An act for the relief of John M. Buchanan, John Swan
and Daniel Blocker, securities for Joseph Everstine,
late Collector of State Taxes for Allegany County.

1, 1847.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the time for the payment of the direct and income
tax, and all the taxes due the State for the year eighteen
hundred and forty-four, by Joseph Everstine, late col-
lector for Allegany county, be extended to the first day
of January, eighteen hundred and forty-eight, the State
reserving to itself all its rights and remedies against said
sureties notwithstanding the provisions of this act; and
that no proceedings shall be had upon the bond of the
said Joseph Everstine, late collector as aforesaid, until
alter the said first day of January, eighteen hundred and

forty-eight; and provided also, that before this act shall
go into operation, the assent or the securities on said
bond to the provisions of this act, shall be filed in writ-
ing in the clerk's office of Allegany county.

CHAPTER 108.

Proviso.

An act to authorise the Trustees of the Poor, for Kent
County, to sell or exchange certain property therein
mentioned.

Passed Jan.
14, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the trustees of the poor for Kent coun-
ty, are hereby authorised to sell or exchange any portion
of the firm, not exceeding fifty acres, now held and
owned by the county, and formerly the property of the
heirs of James Cruickshanks, deceased, if in their judg-
ment the public interest will be promoted thereby.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees, or
a majority of them, are hereby authorised and empower-

ed to execute a legal conveyance for the same.
