PUBLIC AUCTION— A supplement to the act of

1827, ch. Ill, to regulate sales by,

All teal estate, goods, wares, mer-

chandise, stocks and every species of

personal property exposed to sale by,

in the city of Baltimore, except those

mentioned in the second section of this

act, subject any time struck off, to cer-

tain duties, &c.,

"

All goods and other property belong-

ing to the United States, or seized by

any public officer for any forfeiture or

penalty, or taken in execution, and all

goods distrained for rent, utensils of

husbandry, articles the growth and pro-

duce of the State, exempted from afore-

said duties, and may be sold in any part

of the State, out of the limits of the

city of Baltimore,

All goods, &c., sold, to be struck off

to the highest bidder, when auctioneer,

owner or any person employed by them,

be such bidder, said goods, &c., subject

to same duties as if struck off to any

other person; this section not to render

valid any sale which would otherwise

be deemed frauculent, &c.,

The same duties specified in the first

section, shall be chargeable on all goods,

&c., sold by auctioneer at public sale,

on the day of his public auction,

Every auctioneer appointed by virtue

of the act of 1827, chapter 111 shall,

within twenty days after fust days of

January, April, July and October, of the
year when appointed, to render to one
