wise to confirm; if set aside, orphans

court to bind out the child to some

white person, &c.

Constable or justice failing to execute

this law upon information, &c., to be

liable to indictment, upon conviction, be

removed and fined as for misdemeanor.

The parent of child shall have the pri-

vilege of selecting the person to whom
child may be bound, if orphans court

approve, &c.

Person to whom any apprentice may

be bound, shall not permit any apprentice

to remain in the employment or custody

of any free negro, any master so offend-

ing, liable to indictment and punish-

ment as for misdemeanor.

Inconsistent acts repealed.

Act to extend to Harford county

only, &c.; nothing in act to be construed

to repeal the 6th section of act of 1839,

chapter 35, but the same considered a

part of this act.
