COLLATERAL INHERITANCES, &c.— In all

cases where any estate subject to the

tax imposed by act of 1844, ch. 237,

and there be only a life estate, interest

for term of years, or a contingent inter-
est given to one party and the remainder

to another, the orphans court of the

county where administration granted, to

determine what proportion each party

shall pay of said tax of two and one-

half per cent, on every $100, judgment

of said court to be final, and party to

pay in the manner mentioned in act of

1844, ch. 237, and 1845, ch. 202, &c.,

and the party entitled in remainder to

pay his proportion within the same time

as though his interest had vested in pos-

session.

Said tax to be a lien upon such estate

&c., until paid, &c.

tion to oath now required by act of

1798, ch. 101, sub-ch. 3, sec. 12, to

take additional oath to comply with the

provisions of the law imposing tax on,

oath to be administered by the register of

wills, to be placed on record, and 6th
