RESOLUTIONS.

No. 12.

Passed Feb.

11, 1847.

Resolution in relation to the Coupons received and paid
by the Messrs. Barings, as Agents for the State of
Maryland.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Commissioner of Loans be, and be is hereby autho-
rised, to request the Messrs. Barings to transmit to the
said commissioner, the coupons by them received and
paid, as agents for the State of Maryland, after canceling
the same, without obliterating them, by piercing them
in one or more places, in the same manner, and with the
same precaution now used by the said Messrs. Barings,
in transmitting from London unpaid coupons to be sold
in this State; and the said Commissioner of Loans is
hereby authorised to draw upon the Treasurer for the
expense of such transmission.

11, 1847.

Resolution directing the Treasurer to have State Bonds

with Coupons attached, registed at the Loan Office.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer be, and he is hereby authorised and direct-
ed to have all State bonds with coupons attached, now
in his possession, as trustee of the sinking fund, or which
be may hereafter purchase for said fund, registered at the
loan office, as the properly of said fund; and after such
bonds have been so registered, the commissioner of loans
is hereby required to pay the interest from time to time
coming due on said bonds, as he now does in relation to
loan office certificates of stock, without the presentation
of coupons; and the treasurer is hereby directed, after said
bonds have been so registered, to submit said bonds to
be inspected and counted, and then burned by the joint
committee appointed under resolution number eight, of
eighteen hundred and forty, or in such other manner as
the General Assemby may hereafter direct.
