CHAP. 343.

that corruption existed on the part of the judges of
elections, or any of them, and that he is prepared to
prove the fact, or that he is prepared to prove that a suf-
ficient number of illegal votes were cast at such election
as to defeat the election of the candidate who may have
the returns, then in that case, or cither of them, the
Chancellor shall, without delay, communicate, in wiling,
to the then Governor of the State, all the facts in the
premises, and upon such representation of facts, the
Governor is hereby authorised and directed to convene,
by proclamation, upon reasonable notice, the Senate of
Maryland, before whom the Chancellor shall forthwith
lay all the election returns for Governor, with the affida-
vit of the contestant; the Senate, when so convened,
shall decide all questions in lelation to the number or
legality of the votes given for each and any person voted
for as Governor, and in relation to the returns, and in re-
lation to the qualification of the persons voted for as Go-
vernor, and all other questions growing out of such a
state of facts, shall be decided by the Senate.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That if this act shall be
confirmed by the General Assembly, afier a new election
of delegates, at the first session alter such new election,
agreeably to the provisions of the constitution and form
of government, then and in such case, this act, and the al-
terations and amendments of the constitution therein
contained, shall be taken and considered, and shall con-
stitute and be valid as a part of Raid constitution and
form of government, anything in the said constitution
and form of government to the contrary notwithstanding.

Justice to give
certificate.

An act to encourage ike destruction of Crows, in Saint
Mary's, Charles and Prime George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That if any person residing in Saint Mary's,
Charles or Prince George's counties, shall bring to
any justice of the peace of the county in which such
person shall reside, the head or heads of any crow or
crows, such person shall, for every such head or heads,
be allowed in the county levy of said county the sum of
six and a quarter cents, and the justice of the peace, be-
fore whom such head or heads shall be brought, is here-
