An act to allow further time to William O. Chappell,
Sheriff of Montgomery county, to execute his bond for
the year eighteen hundred and forty-seven.
|
|
|
Time allowed.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William O. Chappell, late sheriff of
Montgomery county be, and he is hereby allowed until
the first day of February, in the year eighteen hundred
and forty seven, to execute his bond to the State as sheriff
of Montgomery county, for the year eighteen hundred
and forty-seven, and that the said bond, if executed and
approved on or before that day, shall be as valid and
binding on said sheriff and his sureties, as if executed
within the time now limited by law.

Acts valid.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all official acts done,
or to be done and performed by said sheriff after he shall
hare bonded as aforesaid, shall be as valid and effectual
in law, as if he had executed his bend within the time
prescribed by existing laws.

surer.
Proviso.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
it shall be the duty of the board of commissioners of
Baltimore county, to allow the treasurer of the county,
such compensation for his services as they may deem
reasonable and right; provided, such compensation does
not exceed the rate of five hundred dollars per annum,
in lieu of all perquisites, except transcripts called for
which he shall be paid for according to the existing
laws.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said treasurer acting
as clerk and treasurer, shall keep his office open from
nine o'clock A. M., until three o'clock P. M., every
Wednesday and Saturday, or every day, if his duties
and the public interest require it, and be there in person.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That in all cases where
said treasurer has occupied the office for a period of five
