THOMAS G. PRATT, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1846.

Coal Company of the first part, to Joseph Weld, Thomas
Weld Blundell, John Folliott Powell and Robert Samuel
Palmer of the second part, bearing date the third day of
December, in the year eighteen hundred and forty-six,
and recorded in liber H. B., No. 2, folios 212, 213, 214,
215, 216 and 217, one of the land records of Allegany
county, in this State; and the deed of mortgage execut-
ed by the said company of the first part, to Thomas
Weld Blundell, John Folliott Powell and Robert Samuel
Palmer of the second part, bearing date the filth day of
December, in the year eighteen hundred and forty-six,
and recorded in the aforesaid liber, folios 217, 218, 219
and 220, and the deed of mortgage executed by the said
company of the first part, to Thomas Weld Blundell,
James Weld, John Folliott Powell and Horatio Lloyd of
the second part, bearing dale the seventh day of Decem-
ber, in the year eighteen hundred and forty-six, and re-
corded in the aforesaid liber, folios 220, 221, 222. 223,
224, 225 and 226, shall be good and valid and as effec-
tual to all intents and purposes as though the said parties
of the second part thereto were native or naturalized
citizens of the United States.

CHAP. 34.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the trustees un-
der the said several deeds of mortgage be, and they are
hereby exempted from the operation of the act of the Ge-
neral Assembly of Maryland, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-five, chapter one hundred
and sixty-six, entitled, a supplement to the act imposing a
tax on commissions allowed to trustees and receivers to
aid in paying the debts of the State, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter one hun-
dred and eighty seven; provided nevertheless, that the com-
mission or compensation, if any, to be allowed said trustees
or their successors, for the administration of the trust es-
tate, shall be subject to the tax imposed for the use of the
State by said act; and that before this act shall take ef-
fect, there shall be filed with the clerk of Allegany
county court, to be by said clerk recorded, a bond exe-
cuted to the State by some sufficient person, on the part
of the said trustees, to be approved by the said clerk in
the penalty of five thousand dollars to secure the pay-
ment of such tax.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That it shall be the
duty of said trustees, or their agent in that behalf, to file
annually with the clerk of said Allegany county court, a
report or statement under oath, shewing the amount of
compensation, if any, they have previously received in
