regulate the election or other admission of members, the

condition and evidence of membership; the right and
manner of voting at elections of managers; appoint
judges of such elections, and the time, place and man-
ner of holding them; to provide for the receipt and
collection of donations, contributions, or other funds; to
provide for the distribution or other application of all
properly and funds which they, or the said trustees, shall
receive or obtain, to the payment of all necessary ex-
penses which they shall incur; and generally to do all
such lawful acts, and pass all such by-laws as shall be
necessary to the exercise of the powers vested in them
by this act, and to effect the benevolent object of their
association.

CHAP. 288.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any married woman
contributing to said society, according to the by-laws

thereof, shall have and enjoy all the rights of voting and
acting as members and oilicers of said society, as if she

were a feme sole.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the properly of this

society shall be exempt from taxation until the Legisla-

children, as pupils, for the benefit of this act, no regard

tained, shall be so construed as to authorise or empower
said corporation to is.iue any note, certificate, token or
other evidence of debt to be used as currency; and the
right is hereby expressly reserved to the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, at its pleasure, to alter, amend or

annul this act of incorporation.
