CHAP. 228

Commission-
ers appointed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That Thomas W. Johnson,
David Wagner, Brooke Baker, John Reifsnider, Richard
T. Harman, John Norris and Benjamin Smith be, and they
are hereby appointed commissioners to open the books
and receive subscriptions to the stock aforesaid, who shall
proceed and pursue the same mode as is prescribed by
the second section of the act of eighteen hundred and

thirty-one, chapter fifty-four.

&c.

SEC. 4 And be it enacted, That in the discretion of the
said commissioners, or a majority of them, whenever they
may see fit, they may authorise any one or more of their
number to present a subscription list or book or books in
person, to all and every person whatsoever, for their sub-
scription to the said stock, and any subscription which
they may so obtain, shall be as good and valid as if the same
was obtained in the mode and manner prescibed by the
said second section of the act of eighteen hundred and
thirty-one, chapter fifty-four, any thing to the contrary
notwithstanding.

Re-enacted
and revived.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said act of eigh-
teen hundred and thirty one, chapteri fifty-four, in all and
every part thereof, so far as the same is not inconsistent
with this act be, and the same is hereby re-enacted and
revived, and all the rights, powers, immunities and privi-
leges therein and thereby granted, given and invested in
the Frederick and Woodsborough Turnpike Road Com-
pany, are hereby granted, given and invested in the
Woodsborough Turnpike Road Company, as fully as if
the same were specifically set forth in this act.

Issues forbid.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be construed to authorise or empower the
said Woodsborough Turnpike Road Company, to issue,
publish, or use any token, note or other device to be
circulated as money.

Rights reserv-
ed.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves the right to alter, amend or repeal this act of in-
corporation at plaasute.

CHAPTER 228.

An act to authorise the Commissioners of the Charity
School Fund in Caroline County compensation for
their services.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
