CHAP. 216.

CHAPTER 215.

A supplement to the act entitled, an act to incorporate the
Gray Manufacturing Company, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-four, and numbered
chapter two hundred and seventy-one.

Whenever a
vacancy occur
in the presiden-
cy, &c.

Fill vacancy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That whenever a vacancy shall occur in the
presidency or directory of the corporation described in
the act to which this is a supplement, the same may be
filled, if, in the case of the president, by a new election
by the directors at any meeting of the board after the
said vacancy shall occur; and if, in the case of any one
or more of the directors, then the remaining directors
shall have power to fill said vacancy by an appointment
of any stockholder or stockholders, as the case may be

to supply the same; and the president or directors so
elected or appointed, shall serve for the residue of the
term of the president, director, or, directors, in whose
stead they may have been elected or appointed, any-
thing in the act to which this is a supplement, to the con-
trary notwithstanding.

SEC. 2. And be it furter enacted, That upon the
event of any director of the said company ceasing to be
a stockholder in the same, his office as a director of said
company, shall thereupon be determined and become
void.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all and every clause
or part of the act to which this is a supplement, incon-
sistent with, or contrary to this act be, and the same is
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 216.

An act to provide for the Rebuilding of a School House
in St. Mary's County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, the school house of school district Num-
ber One, in election district Number Three, of Saint

Mary's County, has been lately destroyed by fire—
Therefore,

Receive share

of the public
school fund.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the trustees of said school district be authorised to
receive the proper proportionate share of the public
