CHAPTER 209.
An act authorising James M. Holland, administrator of
Evan Louis, of Accomac County, State of Virginia,
deceased, to convey certain real estate, situate and lying
in Worcester County, State of Maryland.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Evan Louis by an article or bond, dated
eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, did bind himself and
his heirs, to convey to Wrixam Pilchard, and his heirs, a
tract or part of a tract of land, lying in the first election
district of Worcester county, called and known by the
name of Poor Hall, containing sixty acres, more or less;
and whereas, also the said Evan Louis, by bond of con-
veyance, did bind himself and his heirs, to convey to John
Payne and his heirs, all that part of a tract of land called
Watson's Misfortune, situate in Worcester county, con-
taining forty acres, more or less; and whereas, the said
Evan Louis, departed this life before conveying said land
as above described, a ltd leaving an heir who was under
age at the death of said Louis, which heir has since de-
ceased, without complying with the contract and bond
of its said deceased parent, and nearly all of the purchase
money been heretofore paid, and being desirous to pay
the balance, upon having conveyances for the pieces of
land above described, and it being represented to this
General Assembly, that no deed for the same can be exe-
cuted unless by a decree in equity or by an act passed by
the General Assembly of Maryland — Therefore,

To convey
good and suffi-
cient deeds.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That James M. Holland, administrator of Evan Louis,
deceased be, and he is hereby authorised and empowered,
upon the payment of the balance of the purchase money,
to convey, by good and sufficient deeds, to Wrixam Pil-
chard and his heirs, and to Moses Payne, legatee of John
Payne, deceased, or the heirs of said Moses Payne, the
tracts or parts of tracts of land respectively purchased by
them from Evan Louis, which deeds, when recorded
among the records of Worcester county, shall be good
and valid in law, as though they were executed by said
Evan Louis himself.
