CHAP. 180.

CHAPTER 179.

Passed March
5, 1847.

An act entitled, an act to repeal the act of December ses-
sion , eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter two hun-
dred and thirty-eight, entitled, a supplement to an act
entitled, an act authorising the Levy Court of Frederick
County, in their discretion, to levy a sum of money
thertin mentioned.

Repealed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the supplemental act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter two hundred
and thirty-eight be, and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 180.

Passed March
2, 1847.

A further supplement to the act entitled, an act for making
certain roads in Baltimore and Harford Counties, pass-
ed at December session, eighteen hundred and fifteen,
chapter forty-eight.

WHEREAS, it is represented to the General Assembly,
thqt the Baltimore and Harford Turnpike Company de-
sire to make a further extension of the turnpike road on
the Bel Air route, which extension wh?n made, will be an
excess over the twenty miles of roads required to be made
in and by the original act incorporating said company ;
and whereas, said company is deterred from making any
extension without a prior release to, and waiver of, on the
part of the commissioners of Baltimore and Harford coun-
ties, of all claims and demands to them accruing under
acts of Assembly heretofore passed, for and on account
of expenses by them incurred in building bridges, and in
ranking and opening roads on the bed of the contemplat-
ed route of said turnpike as heretofore located; and
whereas, the said extension i much desired by citizens
of said counties in the vicinity thereof, and upon their ap-
plication to the commissioners of their respective coun-
ties, said claims and demands might be waived, but
doubts have arisen as to the power and legal competency
of said commissioners to release and waive the same
without an enabling act of the General Assembly passed
therefor — Therefore,
