CHAP. 130

description of bank notes, or to loan any part of the
funds deposited to any director of said corporation.

Monies to
be invested in
public stocks.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said corporation shall
be capable of receiving from any free person or persons
any deposite or deposites of money, and that all monies
received, or to be received, shall be vested, in public
stocks or other securities, and such interest be allowed
to the depositors thereof as may from time to time be
directed or provided for by the by-laws of said corpora-
tion, the surplus profits to be divided every three years
among the depositors in such manner as the directors
for the time being may think proper, and that no mem-
ber shall be liable in his person or property for any
debts, contracts, or engagements of the said corporation,
but that the money, property, rights and credits of said
corporation, and nothing more shall be liable for the
same.

May elect any
other person.

SEC. 4. And he it enacted, That the directors of said
corporation, or a majority of those attending at any meet-
ing of the board, may elect by ballot any other person
or persons as members of the Eutaw Savings Bank of
Baltimore.

Right reser-
ved.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Legislature here-
by reserves to itself the right to alter or annul this act
of incorporation at pleasure.

CHAPTER 130.

Passed March
3, 1847.

An act to exempt from Militia fluty Honorary Members of
Uniformed Volunteer Companies.

Exempt &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That each volunteer company in this State
may receive into their respective companies, honorary
members, and that a certificate from the commanding
officer of such company, to any citizen now required by
law to do militia duty, that said citizen is and has been
elected an honorary member of said company, shall ex-
empt said citizen from militia duty, except that he shall
be liable to duty in said company in case of invasion
or insurrection.

To pay three
dollars, &c.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That before any such cer-
tificate shall be given as provided by the first section of
this act, the party making application for the same, shall
