LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 129.

succession, and shall be able and capable in law to ac-
quire property, real, personal and mixed, by gift, devise
or purchase, and to hold, sell, dispose of, and convey the
same; and to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded,
answer and be answered, defend and be defended, in any
court of law or equity, or any place whatsoever; and to
have and use a common seal, and the same to break,
alter and renew at pleasure; and to receive and make
all deeds, transfers, contracts, covenants, conveyances
and grants whatsoever, and generally to do every other
act and thing necessary to carry into effect the provisions
of this act, and to promote the object and design of said
corporation, which are hereby declared to be the pro-
motion of religion and learning, in connexion with the
Protestant Episcopal Church.

May make
by-laws.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation
shall have power to make for themselves by-laws, and
by by-laws or otherwise to appoint a visitor to the cor-
poration.

Majority of
trustees to be
a quorum.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That a majority of said
corporation as trustees, shall constitute a quorum for the
transaction of all business appertaining to the business of
said corporation.

May fill va-
cancies.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That in case of the death,
resignation, or refusal to serve, of any one or more of
said corporators, the board, or a majority of them, shall
have power to fill such vacancy or vacancies.

Right reserv-
ed.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said corporators
shall have power and authority to remove any one of
said board by a vote of at least two-thirds; and the Le-
gislature hereby reserves to itself the right to alter or
repeal this act of incorporation at pleasure.

An act to incorporate the Eutaw Savings Bank of Bal-
timore.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Edward Gray, Robert Garrett, John
Dashane, Chancey Brooks, William Heald, Fielding
Lucas, jr., Elisha P. Barrows, Thomas Merridith, George
Bartlett, John Q. Hewlett, William McKim, Charles
Howard, W. Reynolds, Lewyn Wethered, W. E. May-
