LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 114.
Common seal.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be
lawful for the said corporation to have a common seal
for their use; and the same, at their will and pleasure,
to change, alter and make anew, from time to time, as
they may think best; and shall in general have and ex-
ercise all such rights, privileges and immunities as by
law are incident or necessary to corporations, and may
be necessary to the corporation herein constituted, and
to enable the members of said Order to exercise all things
concerning the designs of this corporation for the be-
nevolent relief of the sick and distressed, and the promo-
tion of their purposes generally.

Legislature
may demand a
statement.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be
a lawful at any time for the General Assembly to demand
a statement of the amount of property, real or personal,
belonging to the said corporation, and of the debts due
to and from said corporation, and the purposes for which
disbursements shall have been made, and shall also have
the right to authorise one or more persons to inspect
such general accounts in the books of the said corpora-
tion as shall relate to such statement.

Right reser-
ved.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
of Maryland reserves the right to change, alter or amend
this corporation at any time.

Issues forbid.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
shall be so construed as to authorise the said corporation
to issue any note, scrip, token, device or any other evi-
dence of debt to be used as currency.


CHAPTER 114.

Passed Feb.
13, 1847.

An additional supplement to an act entitled, an act to
incorporate the Trustees of the Male Free School of
Baltimore.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, the trustees of the Male Free School of
Baltimore, by their petition to this General Assembly,
have represented, that it would promote the interest of
the said school, and facilitate the transaction of the busi-
ness of the institution, if five additional trustees were
added to the present board, and have prayed that a law
may be passed for that purpose, and this General As-
sembly being desirous to aid and promote the institution —
therefore,
