CHAP 356.

other proper officer of the banks, located in the city of
Baltimore, and of all other incorporated institutions of
said city, and they are hereby directed, to furnish annu-
ally, on the first day of May, to the appeal tax court of
the city of Baltimore, the amount of the stocks of said
hanks, or other incorporated institution of said city, held
by each stockholder, together with the name and resi-
dence of said stockholder, so far as the same may be
known to the president or other officer aforesaid.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the proviso to the six-
tieth section of the act passed at March session, eighteen
hundred and forty-one, chapter twenty-three, be and the
same is hereby repealed, and that from and after the
passage of this act, vessels licensed by the general gov-
ernment shall be subject to taxation lor city purposes, in
like manner as for State purposes.

CHAPTER 355.

An act relating to the several Internal Improvement Com-
panies in this State.

Governor to
exercise su-
pervisory
power.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Governor of this State be, and he is hereby
authorised and requested, so far as may be consistent
with the charters of the said companies, and the rights,
interests and privileges of the State therein, to exercise
a supervisory power over the tariff of tolls which they
may have now, or may hereafter establish, to the end,
that the revenue to be derived therefrom to the State,
may not be reduced by the competition of the said com-
panies for the same trade or travel, or in any other way.

CHAPTER 356.

Time allowed.

An act for the benefit of John B. Hayden.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John B. Hayden, collector of the county taxes of
St. Mary's county, for the year eighteen hundred and
forty-two, be allowed until the first of January, eighteen
hundred and forty-seven, to complete his collections.
