Empowered to
hold, &c.
|
An act for the benefit of Henry Osborn, of Washington
County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Henry Osborn of Washington county, be and lie
is hereby authorised and empowered to hold, possess,
acquire, enjoy and transmit real estate, in the same man-
ner and as effectually as if he had been regularly and
duly naturalized according to law; and thai any title or
claim, which the said Henry Osborn may have acquired
to any real estate, by contract with, or by the last will
and testament of a certain Peter Spissort, late of Wash-
ington county, deceased, shall not be affected or impaired
by reason of the said Henry Osborn's not being a natural-

Proviso.

ized citizen of the United States; provided nevertheless,
that the said Henry Osborn shall proceed to complete
the process of naturalization already commenced, and
shall in due course of law, become a naturalized citizen
of the United States.

Preamble.
|
An act for the relief of John Cole, of Howard District.
WHEREAS, it appears to this General Assembly, that
upon proof, that a certain John Holland of Howard Dis-
trict, of Anne Arundel county, was convicted at Septem-
ber term, eighteen hundred and forty-four, of cutting
down a boundary tree, on a presentment of the grand
jury of said district, on the testimony of John Cole, in-
former; and whereas, it further appears that by reason
of the failure of the said grand jury to return the name
of the informer, he has been deprived of one-half of the
fine of eighty-three dollars and thirty-three and one-third
cents, imposed on said Holland — therefore,

Treasurer to
pay.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Treasurer pay to John Cole or his order, the
sum of forty-one dollars and sixty-six cents, the amount
of one-half of the fine imposed on said Holland, by the
court of Howard district, at September term, eighteen
hundred and forty-four, and due him by law as informer
in said case, as soon as the same shall have been received
into the treasury of the State.
