1845.

CHAPTER 331.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to establish Magis-
trates Courts in the several counties of this State, and
to prescribe their jurisdiction, passed March eighteen
hundred and thirty-six, chapter two hundred and one.

CHAP. 332.

9, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of June
next, the justices composing the several district courts
of Somerset county, shall be entitled to their fees accord-
ing to the provisions of the original act to which this is
a supplement, instead of the per diem allowance.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts repugnant to or inconsistent with this act are hereby
repealed.

CHAPTER 332.

Repealed.

An act for the benefit of Sophia Ann Robinson of Dor-
chester County.

Passed Mar.
9, 1846.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
that Sophia Ann Robinson, formerly Sophia Ann Max-
well of Dorchester county, is entitled to a certain annuity
under the last will and testament of John Murray, late of
said county, deceased; and that the husband of the said
Sophia has been for many years absent from her, and still
continues absent, without providing her any means of
support; therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said Sophia Ann Robinson bo and
she is hereby authorised and empowered to have, receive
and collect by suit or otherwise, in her own name and
for her own use, the said annuity, in the same manner
that she could or might do under the laws of this State,
if she were sole and unmarried.

Authorised to
act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That payment of the said
annuity or any part thereof to the said Sophia Ann Rob-
inson, shall be good and valid, and bar the right of her
said husband to recover the same; and her receipts there-
for shall be valid discharges, and pleadable in bar of any
claim or demand on the part of her said husband or any
person claiming from or through him.
