the county aforesaid, and that in the execution of said
warrant it is discovered that a small portion of land is
included in said survey, represented by the surveyor to be
vacant, but which has been held and occupied by the pe-
titioner, and upon which he had erected improvements,
under the belief that it was included within the lines of
his purchase; and whereas, the rules and law of the land
office, requires, that in making a return of land alledged
to be vacant, that the improvements on said vacancy shall
be paid for in the Treasury of the State, and that it is
not right or proper, that the said Amos Young should
be compelled to pay the second time for the improve-
ments he has erected, — therefore,

CHAP. 327.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That upon the said Amos Young, ranking a return of his1
certificate of resurvey to the land office, in virtue of the
warrant obtained by him on the tenth day of November,
eighteen hundred and forty-five, and paying into the
Treasury of the State for the vacant land included in said
resurvey, the price per acre, at which the State sells her
vacant land, and the rules of the land office are complied
with, it shall be the duty of the register of the land office,
and he is hereby required to issue a patent to the said
Amos Young for the same, without requiring payment of
proof of payment of any composition money being paid
in the Treasury of the State for the improvements on
said vacancy.

CHAPTER 327.

An act to make valid the Will of John Gibb, of Queen
Anne's County, and to cure a defect in a deed herein
mentioned.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly of Maryland, that a certain John Gibb, of
Queen Anne's county, in the then province of Maryland,
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
forty-seven, did make and publish his last will and testa-
ment, wherein he manumitted and set free certain ne-
groes therein mentioned, the then slaves of the said John
Gibb, and further that the said John Gibb did devise
unto the said negroes a certain tract or part of a tract of
land called Killmanan's Plains Addition, and a certain ether
