CHAP. 288.

SEC. 11 And be it enacted, That in all cases where
one claim shall be filed by the person preferring the
same, either for work done or materials furnished, or
both in pursuance of the twelfth section of the original
act to which this is a supplement, it shall and may be
lawful to issue one writ of scire facias to recover the
same, which writ of scire facias shall specify the amount
claimed on each house, and that it shall and may be law-
ful for any party in interest upon the return of the said
writ of scire facias to apply lor and have as many cases
docketted as there are houses proceeded against, and
that separate judgments shall and may be entered against
each of the said houses, and the same proceedings shall
be had as would have taken place if separate liens had
been filed.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That any person having
or claiming to have any interest in any building proceed-
ed against, may upon petition, be authorised to appear
and be made a party defendant, and that the person so
doing, shall become responsible lor costs.

|
Take effect.
|
SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That this act of Assembly
shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.

A further supplement to the act, entitled an act to appoint
Commissioners for the regulation and improvement of
Chestertown, in Kent County, and for other purposes,
passed at November session, eighteen hundred and five,
chapter one hundred and one.

SECTION 1. Be it. enacted by the General Assembly
Maryland, That the commissioners of Chestertown may,
from time to time, sanction and allow, if in their judg-
ment, the public convenience will not be affected there-
by, all encroachments upon the public streets and alleys
of the said town, by buildings, porches, steps and fenc-
ing, which have already been made on the same, or
which may hereafter be erected and built by the consent
of said commissioners.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the judges of Kent
county court, shall be authorised to acquit all persons,
