SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be taken or construed to authorise the said
Company, either directly or indirectly, to exercise or use

banking privileges.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves to itself the right to alter or annul this act of in-
corporation at pleasure.

An act to divide the Second and Third Election Districts
in Worcester County into Three Election Districts.

Passed Jan.

22, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
and the confirmation of the same by the next General
Assembly, that James F. Mills, Joseph Richardson and
John F. Purnell be commissioners appointed, whose
duty it shall be to lay out and establish a new election
district by taking a portion of each of the above men-
tioned districts; and the said district when established
shall be known by the appellation of the New Ark Dis-
trict, or district numbered nine.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners shall commence at the mouth of the creek known
as Mill Creek, following the said creek to the head wa-
ters thereof, and from thence the most proper route to the
head waters of the Nine Pin branch, and down said
branch to the mouth thereof; and for the southern line
thereof, commencing at the mouth of the creek leading up
to John Turpin's mill, thence with the most proper route
to the forks of the road at Westleyville, thence with the
county road to the lands of Samuel Johnson, thence
north of the lands of Samuel Johnson (of Samuel) and
John Porter, the most proper route to the Pokomoke

River.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That after the confirming
of this act by the next General Assembly of Maryland,
that at the election next held in said county, an election
shall be held in the said district in the town of New Ark
and in such house as the commissioners of said county
shall designate, any law, usage or custom to the contrary
