An act to authorise and empower the Commissioners of
Cecil County, to levy a sum of money, to build a Bridge
over Little North East Creek, at Kirk's Fording, in
said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of Cecil county be,
and they are hereby authorised and empowered, at their
discretion, at their next annual levy, to levy a sum of
money sufficient for building a bridge over Little North
|

East creek, at or near Kirk's Fording, in said county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said county
commissioners, shall deem the building of such a bridge
over Little North East creek expedient and proper, they
are hereby authorised and empowered, to let the build-
ing of said bridge out by contract, to such person or per-
sons, and on such terms as shall by them be deemed to
be for the interest of said county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That William B. Biles,
John Smith and Caleb Kirk be, and they are hereby ap-
pointed commissioners for the superintendence or con-
struction of said bridge, and that they receive such com-
pensation as the county commissioners of Cecil county,

or a majority of them, shall determine; provided, that the
sum paid to said bridge commissioners, shall not exceed
the sum or sums of money paid to officers heretofore ap-
pointed for the performance of similar services.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
that Wm. B. Clarke, Frisby Tilghman, James Kennedy,
and others, who now are or may hereafter become mem-
bers of said company, and their successors, are hereby

declared to be a body corporate, by the name, style and
title of the Hagerstown Horse Guards, and by that name
may hold real or personal property not exceeding in
value the sum of two thousand dollars, exclusive of the
arms and equipments of said company.
