of Baltimore, already executed, now pending, or hereafter
to be taken, in relation to any street, square, lane or al-
ley within the bounds of said city shall be open to objec-
tion or be held void or imperfect or be otherwise affect-
ed or invalidated, by reason of non-compliance with, or
non-observance of the two said sections hereby repealed,
or of either of them; any law or ordinance to the con-
trary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 32.

CHAP. 32.

An act to empower the Levy Court of Frederick County,
if they deem it expedient, to erect a bridge over the river
Monocacy, at, or in the immediate vicinity of the ford,
commonly known as Campbell's ford.

22, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act
the levy court of Frederick county, be and they are here-
by authorized and empowered, if they deem it expedient,
to levy on the assessable property in said county, a suf-
ficient sum, not exceeding six thousand dollars, to build
a substantial bridge over the river Monocacy, at, or in
the immediate vicinity of the ford, commonly known as

Campbell's ford; provided, the said judges of the levy
court shall not levy more than two thousand dollars in
any one year for the purpose of building said bridge.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said judges of the
levy court of said county shall fix upon a site lor said
bridge, and shall award to the owners of lands on which
said bridge shall be built, such damages as in their opin-
ion said owners of lands shall sustain, taking into con-
sideration the advantages and disadvantages thereof,
and shall adopt a plan according to which said bridge
shall be constructed and of such materials as they may
think best.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the said judges of the levy court of said county to give
four weeks notice in the three newspapers printed in
Fredericktown known as the Examiner, Herald and Re-
publican Citizen, for proposals for building said bridge.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said judges of
the levy court are hereby authorized to contract with any
person or persons to build said bridge, and to take bond
