CHAP. 131.

Five of the Order of Independent Red Men of the State
of Maryland, incorporated by the act to which this is a
supplement, shall and is hereby declared to be Powhat-
tan Tribe Number Five of the Independent Order of Red
Men of the State of Maryland; and that so much of the

Repealed.

act to which this is a supplement as is inconsistent here-
with, be and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 130.

An act relating to Boarding Houses in Baltimore City.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, any person
or persons who shall, on or before the first day of May
in each and every year, register his, her, or their name
or names, as the keeper or keepers of any boarding
house in the city of Baltimore, with the clerk of Balti-
more county court, on payment of the sum of one dollar
in full of all charges, shall thereupon be entitled to re-
ceive a certificate under seal, of such registration, and
the bona fide goods and chattels of any boarder or lodg-
er, permanently or transitorily residing in such boarding
house or houses within the limits aforesaid, shall not be
liable to be taken by distress, or by any other legal pro-
cess for rent in arrear, or any other debt due from the
keeper or keepers of any such registered boarding house
or houses.

CHAPTER 131.

An act entitled, an act to prevent unlawful dealing with
Negroes, and the reception of stolen goods in Prince
George's County.

Lawful under
oath.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
it may be lawful upon complaint made under oath to the
county court of Prince George's county, or to any judge
thereof during the recess of said court by any inhabitant
of this State, that he verily suspects or believes that any
person having a license to trade or sell in said county
