An act for the relief of Benjamin S. Ireland, Administrator
of Richard E. Ireland, late Sheriff and Collector of Cal-
vert County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Benjamin S. Ireland, administrator
of Richard E. Ireland, late sheriff and collector of Calvert
county, be and he is hereby authorised to collect all fees,
taxes and claims due to the late Richard E. Ireland, in
virtue of his office as sheriff and collector, and the said
Benjamin S. Ireland is hereby empowered to make collec-
tion of all such dues in the same manner as the said Rich-
ard £. Ireland, would have been as sheriff and collector

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Benjamin
S. Ireland, before he proceeds to execute for any fees,
taxes or other dues as aforesaid, shall present to each
indebted individual, at least thirty days before he pro-
ceeds to execute, a bill of such claim or claims with an
affidavit thereto annexed, and if such individual or individ-
uals shall make oath or affirmation before a justice of the
peace of Calvert county, that he, she or they had paid or
settled such demands with the late Richard E. Ireland,
his deputies or agents, then such oath or affirmation shall
be a full set off to, and forever bar the collection of such
