low Thomas Lusby, former sheriff and collector of Kent
county, further time to complete his collections, passed at
December session eighteen hundred and forty-one, chap-
ter two hundred and fifty-five, be and the same is further
extended until the fifteenth day of February, eighteen
hundred and forty-six.

CHAPTER 109.

 

An act to alter and change a portion of the matin Road
hading from Frederick, to Georgetown.

Passed Feb.
17, 1845.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the justices of the Levy court of Fre-
derick county, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered, if in their discretion the public good require it,
to cause to be altered, changed and re-made that portion,
of the main road leading from Frederick to Georgetown,
which passes through the lands of Nicholas Worthington,
of John, and lying on the west side of Bennet's creek.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said justices of
the Levy court shall cause to be closed and shut up that

portion of the old road, which shall be there altered and
changed; provided, said alteration, change, and closing up
can be made without any expense or charge to Frederick
county.

 

CHAPTER 110.

 

A supplement to an act relating to the Citizens Bank of
Baltimore.

Passed Feb.
19, 1845.

WHEREAS, the Citizens Bank of Baltimore by virtue of
the act to which this is a supplement, has returned to the
stockholders eight dollars on each share of the capital
stock thereof, and finds it to be expedient to reduce the
number of directors, and to make some other alterations
in the charter adapted to the change in the circumstances
of the corporation—Therefore,

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That at the next annual election of directors,
there shall be elected eight, instead of the number now
authorised, one of whom shall be president for the time
being, and five of whom shall constitute a quorum.
