CHAP. 80.

An act relating to Contested Elections.

14, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That after this session, it shall not be lawful to allow any
individual contesting the seat of any one who has been reg-
ularly returned by the judges of election, as elected to a
seat in either branch of the legislature, any per diem, mile-
age or other pay, unless the party so contesting shall es-
tablish his right to such seat.

CHAPTER 79.

 

An act to make valid a Deed from Richard Dorsey and
wife, to Daniel Lamboon.

Passed Feb.
15, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the deed from Richard Dorsey and Elizabeth Dor-
sey, his wife, of the city of Baltimore, to Daniel Lamboon,
of Anne Arundel county, bearing date the tenth day of Oc-
tober, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty-four, and re-
corded among the land records of Anne Arundel county,
in liber W. S. G., number nineteen, folios five hundred and
thirty-four and five hundred and thirty five, be and the
same is hereby made as valid and effectual in law, as if the
certificate of the clerk of Baltimore county court had been
annexed thereto, declaring that the justices of the peace,
before whom the acknowledgment of said deed was taken,
were then in commission, and duly authorised to act as
justices in and for the city of Baltimore.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act concerning
Crimes and Punishments, passed at December session
eighteen hundred and eighteen, chapter one hundred and
fifty-seven.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this act,
if any person or persons shall entice, persuade, or offer
any inducement to any slave or servant to runaway from
