law, to all intents and purposes, until the term of said
court prescribed for the renewal of the same by the act
of Assembly of December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-five, chapter two hundred and eight, section five.

CHAP. 65.

CHAPTER 64.

An act to allow John M. Carlton, late Sheriff and Collec-
tor of fees of Allegany County, further time to complete
his collections.

Passed Feb.
6, 1845.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John M. Carlton, late sheriff and collector
of fees of Allegany county, by himself or any person or
persons by him appointed for this purpose, be and he is
hereby authorised and empowered to collect until the last
day of December, eighteen hundred and forty-six, all sums
and balances due him as sheriff and collector of fees of
Allegany county, in the same manner which the said
John M. Carlton, late sheriff and collector of fees of Alle-
gany county, could or might have done within the time
limited by law, any thing to the contrary notwithstanding.

Time allowed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the said John M. Carlton, before he proceeds to execute
or distrain the property of any person or persons for pub-
lic dues or officer's fees in virtue of thi3 act, to deliver to
such person or persons chargeable with the same, at least
thirty days previous to the levying such execution or dis-
tress, an account written in words in full length of the
taxes, public dues, or officer's fees, demanded of him,
her or them, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he
hath not received any part thereof, nor any thing in securi-
ty or satisfaction for the same, more than the credits given,
to the best of his knowledge.

Thirty days.

CHAPTER 65.

 

An act to allow Morris O. Colston, late Collector of Tal-
bot County, further time to complete his collections.
