CHAPTER 56.

CHAP. 58.

An act Supplementary to an act entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the Pipe Creek Benevolent Society, passed at De-
cember session eighteen hundred and forty-three, chap-
ter one hundred and ninety-two.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General As-
sembly, that the maximum amount of property which the
Pipe Creek Benevolent Society, is authorised to hold and
possess, is insufficient to accomplish the objects for which
said society was incorporated—Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the amount of property real, personal and mixed,
which the said society is authorised by the act to -which
this is a supplement, to hold and possess, be and the
same is hereby increased to the sum of twenty thousand
dollars.

CHAPTER 57.

 

An act to change the name of William Marshall to William
Leonard.

Passed Jan.
10, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of William Marshall, a resident of Talbot
county and State of Maryland, be and the same is hereby
altered and changed to William Leonard, and it shall be
lawful for the said William Marshall, at all times hereaf-
ter, to be called and known by, and hold and use the
name of William Leonard, and by the name of William
Leonard, to purchase, sell, convey or devise, to sue and
to be sued in any court of law and equity.

CHAPTER 58.

 

An act to allow further time to Benjamin T. Pindle, Sher-
iff of Anne Arundel County, to execute his bond for the
year eighteen hundred and forty-five.

Passed Dee.
31, 1845.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Benjamin T. Pindle, sheriff of Anne
