Resolution in favor of James T. Blakistone and John
S. Sellman.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer be, and he is hereby authorised to allow and
pay to Messrs. James T. Blakistone and John S. Sellman,
committee of the Senate, to take testimony in the contest-
ed election of Messrs. Quynn and Ross, the usual compen-
sation in such cases, and the usual allowance for the clerk
of said committee and witnesses who may be summoned
by said committee.

Resolution appointing a State's Agent.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
William T. Goldsborough, of Dorchester County be, and he
is hereby appointed agent to vote the stock of this State,
in all joint stock companies in which the State has an in-
terest in the place of Wm. U. Purnell, Esqr. who has re-
signed.
Resolved, That the President of the Senate, and the
Speaker of the. House of Delegates, address a joint letter
to the said Wm. T. Goldsborough, informing him of his
appointment.

Resolution in relation to resolution number eight, of
eighteen hundred and forty.
WHEREAS, in pursuance of resolution number eight, of
eighteen hundred and forty, a joint committee of the
the Senate and House of Delegates, consisting of three
members, one from the Senate and two from the House of
Delegates, are required to be appointed to execute said
resolutions; AND WHEREAS, no time remains for said com-
mittee to perform the duties incumbent upon them during
the present session of the Legislature—Therefore,
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland
That said committee may postpone so much of their duty
