CHAP. 267.

part of a tract of land called Fair Hill; AND WHEREAS,
the said deed was executed and acknowledged agreeably
to law, and recorded among the land record books of
said county, in Liber G. M. C. number one, folio four
hundred and thirty-four; AND WHEREAS, the said William
B. Callicot, who was an alien, neglected to become natu-
ralized agreeably to the laws of the United States, within
twelve months alter his being capable of becoming a citi-
zen as required by the laws of this State, but has since
been naturalized and to cure said defect—Therefore,

Deed declared
valid and effec -
tual.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said deed be, and the same is hereby declared
valid and effectual in the same way and manner, as if the
said William B. Callicot, had become naturalized agree-
ably to the laws of the United States, within the period
required by the laws of this State.

An act to incorporate the Farmers' and Mechanics'1 Band
of Middletown Valley.
|

Incorporated.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Isaac Koogle, Ezra Biser, Eli Koogle,
Daniel Biser, Jocob Biser, David Koogle, Joshua Koogle,
Henry Smith, Daniel Keller, John Flook, Josephus W.
Wise, Arthur Maguade, together with such as may be-
come associated with them and their successors, be and
they are hereby incorporated and made a body corporate
and politic, by the name of the Farmers' and Mechanics'
Band of Middletown Valley, and by that name they may
sue and be sued, have a common seal, and the same at
pleasure, alter, and be entitled to use the powers and
privileges incident to such corporation.

To elect their
officers, &c.
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said corpora-
tion shall at their first or some subsequent meeting, choose
a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and such
other officers as they may deem necessary or consistent
for the government and regulation of said corporation and
its property, they shall have the power to make standing
rules or by-laws, for prescribing the terms of office and
duties of their officers, for regulating the terms on which
persons may be admitted and continued members of the

corporation; provided, such by-laws are not repugnant to
the laws of this State or the United States.
