CHAP. 252.

bridge across Barren Creek, at or near Barren Creek
Springs, in Somerset county, and if they or a majority of
them, shall believe that the public interest and convenience
will be promoted thereby, they are hereby authorised and
empowered to levy upon the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding five hundred dol-
lars, for the construction of said bridge.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an net declara-
tory of the act of the General Assembly, passed at De-
cember session, eighteen hundred and forty-one, chapter
three hundred and twenty-five.

Repealed.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the act of December session, eighteen
hundred and forty-two, to which this act is a supplement,
and which provides for the rateing of ground rents and in-
come and to be taxed as such, be and the same is hereby
repealed.

An act entitled, an act to cure a Defective Acknowledgment
in a Deed of Mortgage therein mentioned.

valid and ef-
fectual.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the deed of mortgage from Henry Hann to George
Merring and Henry Hiner, bearing date January twenty-
sixth, eighteen hundred and forty-three, and recorded in
Liber H. S. number seventeen, of the land records of Fre-
derick county, shall be considered and the same is hereby
declared to be as valid and effectual to all intents and pur-
poses, as if the acknowledgment thereof had been made and
certified in due form of law.
