CHAPTER 248.

CHAP. 250.

A supplement to an act passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and forty-three, chapter three hundred and eight.

Passed March
8, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That nothing contained in the act to which this a supple-
ment, shall compel constables to publish notices of sales in
a newspaper in Somerset county, unless negroes or realty,
are taken under execution by said constables; provided,
due notice be given by public advertisement at the Court
House door, of said county, and other public places of
said constable's sales.

CHAPTER 249.

 

An act to repeal an act entitled, an act to provide for the
proper location of the first Toll Gate on the Falls Turn-
pike Road.

Passed March
8, 1845.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act entitled, an act to provide for the
proper location of the first toll gate on the Falls turnpike
road, passed at the present session, be and the same is here-
by repealed.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful
for said turnpike company to demand or receive, from per-
sons using the road, any other than an amount of toll in pro-
portion to the distance travelled on said road, according to
the rules fixed by the thirteenth section of the original char-
ter of said company.

Not lawful.

CHAPTER 250.

 

An act authorising the construction of a Bridge across
Barren Creek, at or near Barren Creek Springs, Som-
erset County.

Passed March
7, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Somerset county, be and they
are hereby authorised and empowered, to take into con-
sideration the propriety and expediency of constructing a
