An act to authorise William F. Turner to bring and retain
a Negro Slave in this State.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That William F. Turner, be and he is hereby authorised
to retain and hold in this State, a negro woman named
Winney, a slave for life, according to and upon complying
with the provisions of the act of eighteen hundred and
thirty-nine, chapter fifteen.

An act entitled, an act to repeal the act of December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter one hundred
and sixteen, and its supplement, relating to the Publica-
tion of the Rules of the several Courts of this State.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-seven, chapter one hundred and sixteen, and
a supplement thereto, passed at December session eighteen.

CHAPTER 245.

An act to make Coupons and Certificates of Interest receiva-
ble in payment of Taxes, without distinction of years.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
coupons of interest on any of the bonds of this State, and
also certificates of interest, issued and to be issued by the
Commissioner of Loans, shall be receivable in payment of
taxes now due to this State, of hereafter to become due,
without distinction of years.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That so much of the first
section of the act of eighteen hundred and forty-two, chap-
ter one hundred and eighty-nine, as is inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.
