SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That, when said school
number one, of the middle election district of Caroline
county, shall have been organised according to the pro-
visions of this act, it shall be and is hereby declared to
be a free school, for all the white citizens in said school
district.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That if the Orphan's court
shall be satisfied that said school has not been in opera-
tion for six months of the year immediately preceding the
application of the trustees for their annual proportion of
the school fund of said county, then it shall be the duty of
the Orphan's court to withhold from said trustees their
proportion of the said funds.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That if the metes and bounds
of said school have not been laid off, it shall be the duty
of the Orphan's court of Caroline county to appoint three
commissioners, whose duly it shall be to lay off the said
school; the expenses whereof shall be paid by the taxa-
ble persons of said school district.

CHAPTER 233.

 

An act to incorporate a Company in Allegany County by
the name of Brants Enterprise.

Passed March
1, 1845.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a company by the name of Brants Enter-
prise, be and they are hereby incorporated and made a
body politic, for the purpose hereinafter mentioned, and
that the said body politic shall be known and distinguished
by the appellation of the President and Directors of Brants
Enterprise, and shall have full and ample power and authori-
ty to do, perform and execute all and every matter and thing
which a similar corporation may or rightfully can do, and
shall have succession during the continuation of this act,
