CHAP. 230.

CHAPTER 229.

Passed Feb.
26, 1845.

A further supplement to an act entitled, an act to Incorpo-
rate the Mutual Fire Insurance Company, in Harford
County, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and forty-two.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, the payment in advance of the interest on
premium notes held by the said company, is of the utmost
importance to the well being of the said company; AND

WHEREAS, experience has shown the difficulty of collect-
ing the said interest—Therefore,

full power.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said company shall have and is here-
by invested with full power and authority to make any by

law or by-laws, whereby any member of the said company
failing to pay the interest on his, her or their premium
note or notes, according to the constitution and by-laws
of the said company, may be excluded from all benefit of
insurance, and at the same time held liable to contribu-
tion in case of loss by others, during all the time he, she
or they may be so in default, any law or statute of this
State to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding;

Proviso.

provided, that before this act shall go into effect, it shall
be accepted by the said company at a general meeting of
the members of said company, after notice of at least
twenty days, to be inserted in two newspapers published
in said county, stating the object of said meeting.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said company
shall have full power and authority to rescind or revoke
any policy of insurance by them issued, whenever they
shall deem it for the interest of said company so to do.

CHAPTER 230.

An act to authorise Henry L. Carlton, late Collector in
Prince George's County, to complete his Collections.

Authorised to
collect.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Henry L. Carlton, late collector in Prince
George's county, be and he is hereby authorised to col-
lect all arrearages of tax due to said Carlton, in the same
manner and with as full power as he could have had at
