SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act of incorpo-
ration shall continue for thirty years, and that the State
reserves the right to alter or amend and repeal the same,
whenever the public interest may require it.

 

CHAPTER 207.

Passed Feb.
20, 1845.

An act for the relief of Thomas Dowden, late Sheriff of
Allegany County, and to enable him. to complete his
Collections.

Authorised to
institute suit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Thomas Dowden, late sheriff of Alle-
gany county, is hereby authorised and empowered by
himself or any other person or persons by him appointed

Proviso.

for that purpose, to institute suits and other legal pro-
ceedings; provided, the same be had and instituted on or
before the first day of April, in the year of our Lord eigh-
teen hundred and forty-six, for the recovery and collec-
tion of all suras and balances due him as sheriff of Alle-
gany county.

vious to exe-
cution.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the said Thomas Dowden, before he proceeds to exe-
cute or distrain the property of any person or persons,
for the payment of public dues or officer's fees, in virtue
of this act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable
with the same, at least thirty days previous to the levying
such execution or distress, an account written in words at
full length, of the public dues or officer's fees demanded
of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed thereto,
that he hath not received any part thereof, nor any securi-
ty or satisfaction for the same further than credited, to the
best of his knowledge and belief.

 

CHAPTER 208.

15, 1845.

A further supplement to the act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty-six, chapter one hundred
and eighty-nine, entitled an act to incorporate the Mary-
land Saving's Institution.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, to enable the said corporation to liquidate
and wind up its business, it is necessary that its corpo-
rate powers be continued—Therefore,
