competent and legal authorities of the Methodist Episco-
pal Church in Maryland.

CHAP. 189.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That whenever any vacancy
shall happen by death, refusal to serve, or by moving Ins
membership from the aforesaid circuit, or by expulsion
from church membership, according to the discipline and
rules of said church of any one or more of the said trus-
tees or camp meeting committee, such vacancy shall be
filled up in the usual manner of filling vacancies in the
said church, as prescribed by their deeds of settlement set

forth in the discipline of said church; provided always, the
person or persons so filling up any vacancy, shall at the
time of being so elected a trustee, be a member in full
communion with the church, and above the age of twen-
ty-one years.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the trustee or preach-
er in charge, shall if present, always preside at all meet-
ings of the committee; and in case of death, absence or
removal, the committee shall appoint one of their own
number to fill the office, who shall have all authority and
privileges of president.

Sec 4. And be it enacted, That all orders passed and
contracts made, necessary to be signed, as also, every
other instrument shall be duly executed by the president,
with the corporate seal thereto attached, which shall also,
be duly recorded in a suitable book by the said camp
meeting committee to be provided.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Legislature here-
by reserves the right at any time hereafter to alter, amend
or repeal this charter.

An act authorising the sale of certain real Estate belonging
to the heirs of Daniel James, late of Dorchester County,
deceased.
|

WHEREAS, Daniel James, late of Dorchester county,
deceased, hath departed this life, leaving a very small real
estate, lying and being in Dorchester county, leaving a
widow, Mrs. Maria B. James, and the following children,
his heirs at law and legal representatives, viz: Sarah Au-
gusta, now the wife of John G. Steele, Ann Maria, Frances
Julia, Isabella and Daniel N. James; AND WHEREAS, the
