or receiver shall pay to the said collector the balance, if
any, of said bill so due by him, as aforesaid.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the said collector or
collectors shall be credited on the production of the said
receipts, with the amount thereof, as so much money col-
lected by him or them and paid over.

Take effect

SEC. 1. And be it enacted, That this act shall take ef-
fect from and after the first day of June next.

An act to incorporate the Camp Meeting Committee of
Great Falls Circuit.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, the Methodist Episcopal Church of Great
Falls Circuit, Baltimore county, are desirous of having a
permanent location for 'their camp meetings, by the pro-
curement of a suitable quantity of land; AND WHEREAS,
they have appointed a board of trustees, or camp meeting
committee for this purpose, as also to manage the same
agreeably to the regulations and economy of the said
church; and WHEREAS, it is desirable that in the event of
the purchase against property should be placed on the

most permanent basis—Therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Buck, of Ben., General Tobias E.
Stansbury, Patrick Lynch, Thomas Gale, James Bryan,
Nicholas Gatch, William McCubbin, James Fowler, Philip
Johnson, Senior, William Hiss, John Resse and Joseph
German, and their successors with their minister or preach-
er in charge for the time being, shall be, and are hereby
created and declared to be a body corporate by the name,
style and title of the Camp Meeting Committee of Great
Falls Circuit, and by the same name shall have succession,
to have, hold, enjoy and be seized and possessed of any
quantity of land not exceeding fifteen acres, in connexion
with all and singular of such improvements and appurte-
nances, as properly belong, or in any wise may appertain

to, or contribute to their camp meeting advantages, to sue
and be sued, plead and be impleaded in any court of law
or equity in this State or elsewhere; to make and have a
common seal, and the same to break, alter or renew at
pleasure; and also to establish such by laws and ordinances

as shall appear necessary for regulating the temporal con-
cerns of the camp meetings; provided, the same be not in-
consistent with the laws of this State, or the rules of dis-
