sioners shall, before making such levy, be fully satisfied,
and shall determine that such bridge is requisite and ne-
cessary for the convenience and wants of the citizens of
the said county.

CHAP. 188.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said county com-
missioners, shall deem the building of such bridge over
Big Elk Creek expedient and proper, and shall determine
in favour of it, after having proceeded to levy the requi-
site amount for building the same, the said commissioners
are hereby authorised and empowered to let the building
of such bridge out at contract, to such person or persons,
and on such terms as shall by them be deemed the most
advantageous to the interests of the said county.

CHAPTER 188.

An act to make valid a certain Deed of Conveyance there-
in mentioned.

Passed March
3, 1845.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly
of Maryland, That a certain William B. Callicot, and
Margaret Callicot, his wife, of Cecil county, heretofore,
on the twelfth day of July, in the year eighteen hundred
and forty-one, by their deed of conveyance, conveyed to
a certain Jane McCreary, of said county, a piece or par-
cel of land, lying and being in Cecil county aforesaid;
AND WHEREAS, the said deed was duly executed and ac-
knowledged agreeably to law, and recorded among the
land record books of said county, in liber G. M. C, num-
ber one, folio 121; AND WHEREAS, the said William B.
Callicot, who was an alien, neglected to become natural-
ized, agreeably to the laws of the United States, within
twelve months after his being capable of becoming a citi-
zen as required by the laws of this State, but has since
been naturalized, and to cure said defect—Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said deed be, and the same is hereby declared
valid and effectual, in the same manner as if the said Wil-
liam B. Callicot had naturalized himself agreeably to the
laws of the United States, within the period required by
the laws of this State.
