1844.

collector of the county and State taxes, in the county
aforesaid, be and he is hereby authorised and empowered
to collect any fees or taxes, now remaining due to, and
uncollected by him, in the county aforesaid.

CHAP. 180.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Benjamin T.
Pindle shall, in every instance, before he shall proceed to
the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before some justice
of the peace for Anne Arundel county, that the same re-
mains unpaid, and that he hath not received any security
or satisfaction for the same, or any part thereof, more
than the credits allowed thereon.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall not con-
tinue in force longer than one year from the date of the
passage thereof.

CHAPTER 180.

An act to Incorporate the Sabbath School Society of Co-
lumbia Street Station, in the City of Baltimore.

27, 1845.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That James M. Lester, John W. Carter, Jo-
seph B. Stewart, N. D. Ruckle, Jacob Parrish, A. T.
Waugh, John Showacre, David Whitson, jr., Charles T.
Collins, A. J. Fairbanks, James B. Stewart, Maria Hart-
man, Margaret Stewart, Mary A. Parker, Isabella Ready,
Maria McCausland, Eleanor Ward, S. Windstanly, and
their successors, be and they are hereby declared to be
a community, corporation and body politic, by the name,
style and title aforesaid, and by that name shall be capa-
ble in law to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded,
answer and be answered unto, defend and be defended,
in all or any courts of justice, and before all and any judge,
officers or persons whatsoever, in all and singular actions,
matter or demands whatsoever.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be
lawful for the said corporation to have and use a common
seal for their use, and the same to alter or renew at plea-
sure, and shall in general have and exercise all such rights,
privileges and immunities as by law are incident or
necessary to corporations, and what may be necessary to

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this corporation shall
at no one time, hold or possess property, real, personal or
mixed, exceeding in value the sum of ten thousand dol-
lars.
