CHAPTER 173.

CHAP. 174.

An act entitled, a supplement to the act entitled, an act for
the more effectual protection of Public Worship in this
State, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-four, chapter fifty-three.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the second section of the act to which this is a sup-
plement, be and the same is hereby repealed, so far as it
required notice to be given to the violator of said law, be-
fore the penalties and restrictions of said law take effect.

Repealed.

CHAPTER 174.

 

An act to extend the time, for making out, delivering and
collecting the fees of Attornies and Officers of Montgome-
ry County Court and Register of Wills of said County.

1, 1845.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the fees due the clerk, attornies and offi-
cers of Montgomery county court and the register of wills
of said county, now required by law to be made out and
delivered to the sheriff of said county, on or before the
first of March next, shall and may be made out and deliv-
ered to the sheriff of said county for collection, in the
same manner now prescribed by law, on or before the first
day of May next ensuing the passage of this act, and the
said sheriff, shall have full power and authority to collect

the same as if placed in his hands on or before the first of
March; provided, that no distress or execution shall be le-
vied for said fees, unless the accounts therefor are deliv-
ered on or before the first day of September next, to the
person or persons from whom the same are due or left at
his last place of abode; and further provided, that the said
sheriff shall not be required to pay the said fees to the se-
veral persons to whom the same are due, before the first
day of January next.

Provisoes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the sheriff of
Montgomery county, shall fail to collect and pay over the
said fees in the same manner now prescribed by law, on or
before the first day of January next, the official bond of said
sheriff shall be liable to be sued for the same in the same
manner as if the said fees were placed in his hands within
the time now prescribed by law.
