CHAPTER 158.

28, 1845.

An act entitled, an act relating to a Bridge on Sam's
Creek.

To levy mo-
ney to repair
bridge.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That if the levy court of Frederick county and
the commissioners of the tax for Carroll county, shall each
of them by a resolution of their several boards, determine
that it is expedient and advisable to have a bridge which
has been built across Sam's Creek, on a public road lead-
ing from Graceham to Baltimore, roofed and weather-
boarded, then, and in that case, but not otherwise, the
levy court of Frederick county, shall levy the sum of fifty
dollars on the assessable property of said county, to be
collected as other county assessments are, for the purpose
of roofing and weather-boarding said bridge, and for the
same purpose the commissioners of the tax for Carroll
county, shall levy the sum of fifty dollars on the assessa-
ble property of Carroll county, to be collected as other
county assessments are.

Commission-
era appointed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Evan McKenstry, of
Carroll county, and David Renehart, of Frederick coun-
ty, be, and they are hereby appointed commissioners, to
shingle and weather-board said bridge; and if the said
money shall be levied, the same shall be paid over to said
commissioners for that purpose.

 

CHAPTER 159.

An act entitled, a supplement to the act of December session,
eighteen hundred and forty, chapter two hundred and fif-
teen.

Power to fill
vacancies.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That in case of the, death, resignation, removal, from Wor-
cester county, or other disqualification of any of the com-
missioners appointed by the first section of the act to which
this is a supplement, the remaining commissioners, or a
majority of them, shall have power, and it shall be the
duty to appoint other persons, citizens of said county, to
fill said vacancies.
