508A. The Burgess and Commissioners are authorized
and empowered to purchase or otherwise acquire such land
as may be necessary for the general purposes of garbage
and sewage disposal. The acquisition of such land shall not
be subject to the provisions of Section 510 hereinbelow.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 143)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
54, 55 and 56 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "Boonsboro", providing that the
salaries of the Clerk, the Tax Collector and the Treasurer
of Boonsboro shall be fixed by the Burgess and Council
of said Town.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 54, 55 and 56 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Boonsboro", be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
54. The Clerk shall keep careful and accurate minutes
of the proceedings of the Council, and record all ordinances
passed, in a book to be kept exclusively for that purpose,
called the ordinance book; keep all records, papers and
documents of the town in safe custody. He shall file all
accounts and claims presented against the town, and when-
ever any account is approved and passed by the Burgess
and Council, he shall make a record of the same in a book
to be kept for that purpose. He shall perform such other
duties as are imposed upon him by law, ordinance or order
of the Burgess and Council. He shall [be allowed a sum
