111. All ordinances of the Town of Chesapeake City not
inconsistent with any of the powers and provisions of this
Act heretofore passed and in effect shall be and remain in
full force and power until repealed, changed or modified
by The President and Commissioners of Chesapeake City
and that the present officers of the Town of Chesapeake
City shall continue to hold office as such officials after the
expiration of their respective terms for which they were
elected or appointed until their successors are duly elected
or appointed and qualified as provided by this Act, exer-
cising any and all of the powers, duties and privileges
granted to The President and Commissioners of Chesa-
peake City as a corporation or to any of its officials to the
fullest extent as set forth in the Act. And all legal con-
tracts, obligations, undertakings, debts, demands, rights
and privileges for or against The President and Commis-
sioners of Chesapeake City as heretofore existing shall
remain for or against said municipal corporation as created
by this Act to every intent and purpose as heretofore.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts, amending or constituting in any way a part of the
Charter of the Town of Chesapeake City, be and the same
are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
