repealed, revising the corporate charter of the Town of
Chesapeake City in Cecil County and relating generally
to the powers, duties, officers and employees and to the
government of the Town of Chesapeake City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 85 to 111, inclusive, of Article 8
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Cecil County", sub-title "Chesapeake City",
said sections constituting the charter of the Town of Chesa-
peake City in Cecil County and all amendments thereof
and additions thereto be and the same are hereby repealed
and that 27 new sections be and they are hereby enacted
in lieu thereof, said new sections to be known as Sections
85 to 111, inclusive, of said Article 8 and to stand in the
place and stead of the sections so repealed and all to read
as follows:

85. The citizens of the Town of Chesapeake City, in Cecil
County, Maryland, are constituted and made a body corpo-
rate by the name of "The President and Commissioners of
Chesapeake City", and by that name may sue and be sued,
may have and use a common seal and may contract and
may purchase and hold real estate and other property or
dispose of the same for the use and benefit of the town, and
may specifically exercise any and all of the powers herein
granted and shall assume the responsibilities herein set
forth.

86. The President and Commissioners of Chesapeake City
shall consist of five persons, a President and four Commis-
sioners, who shall be citizens of the United States and at
least twenty-five years of age, and who shall be bona fide
residents of said Town of Chesapeake City, for at least two
years next preceding the date of their election, and who
shall each be a qualified voter therein and assessed in his
own name or as a tenant by the entireties for town taxes
for the immediate preceding year upon the real estate
valuation of $500. 00 or more. The Board shall be nominated
at a public meeting to be held two weeks prior to the election
in said town, and no person who is not nominated at said
meeting shall be eligible for election as President or Town
Commissioner.

87. The citizens of said Town of Chesapeake City of the
age of twenty-one years and upwards, being citizens of the
United States of America, and who shall have resided in
said town for and during a space of six months next pre-
ceding any municipal election shall be qualified to vote at
any municipal election of officers in said town.
