SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Council of Montgomery County and the
County Commissioners of Prince George's County be and
they are hereby directed to procure the services of a
competent and skillful civil engineer or surveyor who shall
at once survey and definitely locate on the ground the
boundary between Montgomery and Prince George's Coun-
ties as said line was established by Resolution of the
Constitutional Convention of 1776 (Proceedings of the
Province of Maryland, September 6, 1776).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said engineer
or surveyor shall, as soon as he has surveyed and estab-
lished the true division line, as aforesaid, permanently
mark said line on the ground at its terminal points, and
along said line by planting thereon, and along the same,
suitable permanent monuments properly marked to desig-
nate said division line so placed as to be not more than
one-half mile apart along said whole line.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the County
Council of Montgomery County and the County Commis-
sioners of Prince George's County are hereby authorized
to appropriate a sum of money, not to exceed Twenty-five
Thousand Dollars ($25, 000. 00), respectively, in order to
carry out the directions of this Act. The cost of said
survey shall be borne equally by said counties.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That said boundary
line shall be completed and permanently established within
one year from the effective date of this Act.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
