for the Clerk and not less than $3, 500 per annum for the
Deputy Clerk. The Justices of the Peace designated as
Clerk and Deputy Clerk, before entering upon their judicial
duties shall each give to the State of Maryland, and signed
with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the County a good
and sufficient bond with corporate surety to be approved
by the County Commissioners of the County, in the penalty
of $5, 000 upon the condition expressed in each of said
bonds, that said Justices giving it will truly and faithfully
discharge, execute and perform all and singular, the duties
and obligations of a Justice of the Peace and perform all
other duties incumbent upon his office, and that he will
account for and pay over to the County Commissioners of
the County, or to whomsoever else he may otherwise be
designated by law as the proper recipient thereof all fees,
costs, penalties and forfeitures for which he is bound to
account, and to pay over to said person or corporation,
and that he will faithfully and truly account for all money
belonging to any person or corporation which may come
into his hands as such Justice of the Peace.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
