by Chapter 153 of the Acts of 1951, relating generally
to the wages or salaries paid to employees of the Police
and Fire Departments and to other general City em-
ployees and officers of the City of Cumberland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 160 of the Charter of the City of Cumber-
land (1950 Edition), being Article 1A of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of Cumber-
land", sub-title "Workmen and Wages", as said section
was amended by Chapter 153 of the Acts of 1951, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
160. The base wage and/or salary of all general city
employees and officers, including the employees of the
Police and Fire Departments, with the exception of casual
or temporary employees, and employees on probation, [and
members of the police and fire departments, ] shall be the
wage or salary paid said employees and officers, whether
on an hourly or monthly basis, as of January 1, [1951]
1953. Such base wage or salary shall be the minimum
amount to be paid to employees and officers in the respec-
tive employment and positions.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT authorizing and empowering the Commissioners
of Aberdeen to borrow upon the faith and credit of the
Town of Aberdeen a sum of money not to exceed One
Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150, 000), at a
rate of interest not to exceed five per cent and to issue
notes, certificates of indebtedness and/or bonds therefor,
for the purpose of the installation of sewerage and
water pipe lines in Aberdeen; and providing for the
